The European Standards of Care for Newborn Health and some of the experts who contributed to the development of the standards, are featured in a new publication by The Lancet Child & Adolescent Health on “Family-centred care in the NICU”. The topic of infant- and family-centred developmental care is one of the greatest concerns of the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI) and, as the editors put it, a shift towards a more holistic and family-oriented approach to treating preterm babies is taking place in Europe and North America. EFCNI very much welcomes this development and we feel honoured to be featured as a key driver of this change.
Together with our experts and many other network partners, we now put all our strength into the worldwide implementation of the European Standards of Care for Newborn Health and thank everyone who supports us in this endeavour.
