Dr Johanna Walz from EFCNI was invited to present the European Standards of Care for Newborn Health in Kyiv, Ukraine, on 23 May 2019.
She gave an overview of the standards at an Expert Meeting at the Ukrainian Ministry of Health on “Standards of Care for Newborn Health in the Ukraine” held by UNICEF Ukraine, the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, NGO Vaccination and our Ukrainian partner organisation Early Birds (Ranni Ptashky), represented by their CEO Oleksandra Balyasna.
The experts and participants discussed the most pressing needs regarding neonatal care in the Ukraine and developed an action plan about which of the standards should be implemented in the country as a priority. Second, on 24 May, Dr Johanna Walz joined a panel discussion about the topic at a Conference on Neonatology in Kiev.
